Nearly 14 years ago Julie and I sold our home, cashed in a minuscule retirement account and liquidated everything we owned so we could follow our missionary dream in the 10/40 Window. We had nothing…no land, no buildings, no people. Nothing! But, we had a ton of faith in God and a vision that was unstoppable!
Julie and I believe strongly in the Biblical concept of sowing and reaping. We believe that seeds produce after their kind. From the time we were young and in a position to do so, we’ve always helped people with housing, a place to stay and building projects with radical generosity.
Now, as the number of people we are reaching in Asia has increased, our desperate need for land, buildings and facilities has also increased. It’s time for our harvest!
I value land and buildings only as tools to reach and help more people. A building, to me, is only a tool to build a life.
Today, Empower International has debt-free land and buildings in Thailand, Burma and Pakistan where people’s lives are being built every single day!
Just this year, God has provided for Empower International to:
- Complete an outside renovation project on our Empower Thailand Ministry HQ building.
- Begin construction on Empower Thailand’s Victory Children’s Home boy’s dorm.
- Begin and soon complete a renovation project on 3 buildings at our Father’s House orphanage in Burma.
- Buy land and complete a new building project for another Empower Myanmar orphanage.
- Acquire 2 new plots of land and build another building for our Empower Pakistan Children’s School (we still need to pay $19,000 on the 2nd plot).
- The multi-purpose area of this school also functions as a church on weekends with over 450 in attendance!
Looking forward…we are believing God for land and buildings to build a new Empower Asia campus in Thailand that will house our Empower Missionary Training Academy and HQ.
